HipHopDX can confirm that DJ Kay Slay, a prominent New York City DJ, and graffiti writer, has passed away. According to famed Hip Hop entrepreneur Van Silk, the 55-year-old died on Easter Sunday (April 17), four months after being hospitalized with COVID-19.
Many of his Twitter followers have expressed their condolences to him.
“Legendary NY DJ, DJ Kay Slay has apparently passed away, according to Wack 100,” said a tweet sent out Sunday night. He was still rehabilitating after being hospitalized for COVID-19 in December, according to reports. DJ Kay Slay, rest in peace.”
Kwame Grayson, Kay Slay’s biological brother, told DX, “He’s absolutely not going to die.”
