Crestwood teen Ryan Plowman dies after catching mononucleosis
Ryan Plowman of Crestwood passed away on Saturday from mononucleosis, a condition that is typically thought to be common but suddenly got worse. He died on Saturday at Comer Children’s Hospital as a result of mononucleosis complications.
For anyone who wants to remember Ryan, a vigil will be held at the Shepard High School stadium this Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7 o’clock. Two years ago, Plowman received a Crohn’s disease diagnosis.
His parents claim that although his medical regimen was successful in treating his autoimmune condition, it severely damaged his immune system, making it impossible for him to fight off mononucleosis. Although mono is rarely fatal, it can be in some circumstances.

Jen and Dan Plowman are currently paying tribute to their son by sharing the joy Ryan brought into their lives.

Ryan’s dad said,
“He was perfect, he was a great student,” “He was extremely hard-working. If he started to do something, he was going to succeed at it.”

“Everyone loved him instantaneously. It was Ryan’s good attitude and likable personality that drew the multitude of family and friends to be by his side at Comer Children’s Hospital for a week as he courageously fought mononucleosis,”
Plowman, a center back for his high school soccer team, had just participated in the state playoffs after helping his squad win the 3A regional championship the previous month.
Ryan Plowman’s mother is Jen Plowman and his father is Daniel Plowman.
Ryan Plowman is a senior at Shepard High School. after this, he attended Butler University after graduation, with hopes of becoming a pharmacist.

Ryan Plowman was 17 years old at the time of his passing. He holds an American nationality and he belongs to the white ethnicity.
