In the drugs-on-cruise case involving Aryan Khan, Prabhakar Sail was an impartial witness for the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). According to a police official, he died of a heart attack on April 1, 2022, in the evening at his home in Mahul.

In a court affidavit, Sail, who claimed to be the bodyguard of NCB witness K P Gosavi, said that he overheard Gosavi discussing a Rs 25 crore pay-off agreement to free Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, from a drug seizure case. Later, the NCB told a court that Sail had become hostile. On October 3, 2021, Aryan Khan was apprehended during an NCB operation on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai.
He and 19 others were charged with illegal drug possession, consumption, sale/purchase, conspiracy, and abetment under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Only two of the defendants are now in judicial custody, while Aryan and 17 others were granted bail.
