Lieutenant William Lebo was assassinated on March 31, 2022, by an unknown man who broke into his stepfather’s home in Lebanon. The suspect opened fire on policemen responding to a burglary report. One officer was murdered, while two others were injured.
Around 3:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Forest Street. Travis Shaud, a lone gunman, opened fire on them.
Travis Shaud, according to the authorities, is a 34-year-old man who used to live at home. Soon after, the officers retaliated with gunfire, killing Shaud inside the house.
The house owners had returned home and discovered an emotionally disturbed relative had broken into the residence, according to reports.

On Saturday morning, a procession was organized in honor of fallen Lebanon City Police Lt. Willaim Lebo.
To pay homage, American flags and emergency responders lined the route near Myerstown.
The procession began at Allentown’s Lehigh Valley Hospital and finished at Lebanon’s Christman’s Funeral Home.
To remember and honor Lebo’s ultimate sacrifice and devotion, a number of emergency personnel were stationed on Interstate 78 overpasses.
The funeral procession took Interstate 78 west to State Route 501 South, then west on State Route 422 to the funeral home on Cumberland Street in Lebanon.
