Their remains were recovered just after 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the area of Proctor Boulevard and 150th Street east of California City. The sheriff’s office has not publicly announced the identity of the two bodies or the cause of death but says there is no reason to suspect any crimes were committed.

Larry Petree was noted for his steel guitar skills and played with some of the biggest names in the industry. He has just recently performed a gig at the Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame on July 30th.
