Police searching for ‘Jacky’ Chong Kai Wong, a suspected murder victim, have discovered remains at a residence in Sydney’s central west.
Human remains have been found in the NSW Central West during the search for man police believed was murdered. The bones were discovered at a secluded property in Killongbutta, 40 kilometers north of Bathurst, according to police.
The finding came five days into the hunt for “Jacky” Chong Kai Wong, a 24-year-old Malaysian man who has been missing since December 2020. At the time of his suspected murder, Mr. Wong was believed to be working for a narcotics cartel involved in cannabis cultivation.
NSW Police Drug and Firearms Squad Commander, Detective Superintendent John Watson, last week said Mr. Wong’s death appeared to have been “particularly gruesome”, although no further details have yet been released.
The remains were recovered on Sunday afternoon and have yet to be identified formally. They’ll be analyzed forensically, and more testing, including DNA analysis, is planned. The three men accused of his murder are scheduled to appear in court in May.
The reason behind his murder is still unknown to the police. Meanwhile, the police have confirmed that Wong was murdered a year ago by the criminal group members.
