After Amber Heard’s team called him as a witness, toxic fans are flooding a psychiatrist’s page with scathing reviews.
After speaking in defense of Amber Heard in the Depp v. Heard defamation trial on Monday, Internet users swamped a psychiatrist’s page with nasty remarks. According to the BBC, Dr. David R. Spiegel, a Virginia psychiatrist, said that Johnny Depp “has characteristics that are consistent with someone who both has substance-use illness and behaviors of someone who is a perpetrator of intimate partner abuse.” Spiegel’s ability to draw his conclusions without having had direct touch with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor was questioned by Depp’s lawyers, according to NBC News.
Spiegel claimed he tried twice to talk with Depp but was turned down. Spiegel’s page on the medical website WebMD was flooded with one-star evaluations after his testimony, many of which cited the trial. “After today’s performance, Dr. Spiegel has to be investigated! He appears and sounds as if he is the one who requires mental assistance “According to one of the one-star ratings. Another reviewer stated, “Called my boyfriend Johnny a foolish pirate.” On Monday, Google was flooded with unfavorable reviews for the doctor, as NBC News correspondent Kat Tenbarge noted on Twitter. The Google reviews appear to have been wiped since then, with only three from more than two years ago left.
Despite this, the psychiatrist appears to have a few fans. Among the many nasty reviews on WebMD, a few people tried to defend him. “All of these one-star reviews have nothing to do with patient care,” said one reviewer. “These are the thoughts of those who are watching the Johnny Depp trial. Perhaps you should look for another outlet for your frustrations.” Insider reached out to Spiegel for comment, but he did not immediately respond. Depp is suing Heard, alleging that she ruined his career and reputation by implying in an op-ed that she was a victim of domestic abuse at his hands. The complaint seeks $50 million in damages for defamation.

He’s 59. He stated that in his testimony
Hi,
If he graduated in 1967 he would have been born around 1946. That would put him about 76.
Somewhere there is an error.
If he’s really 59, then how did he graduate from Yale College in 1967? That means that, since 1967 was 56 years ago, he somehow managed to graduate at the age of 3? I think he’s much older than he claims to be!
He may have been stressed facing an aggressive attorney during the Head Depp trial, but I am happy to see he was brave enough and answered all the questions (even the silly ones) very well.
He seems a VERY GOOD psychiatrist.
