Nygaard, on the other hand, received a deferred sentence after pleading guilty to one of the sexual assault accusations in exchange for the prosecution dropping the second charge and agreeing to a postponed sentence.
According to a video from Billings, Montana NBC TV station KULR, Nygaard’s two victims backed the no-prison plea bargain.

Nygaard was sentenced to probation, therapy, and a six-year registration as a sex offender by Krueger. He can request to withdraw his guilty plea and have the case removed from his criminal record if he follows the judge’s directives for that time period.
He is being given “an incredible chance” with the deferred sentence, Krueger said.
“I have begun the long process of maturing and taking on the responsibility of becoming a man my family and I can be proud of,” Nygaard said at his sentencing. “This work has just begun, and I sincerely regret having to stand before you today. However, it will be the last I will ever find myself here.”
