In January 2002, Daniel Pearl while on his way to interview Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani at the Village Restaurant in Karachi, he was kidnapped near Metropole Hotel at around 7 pm by a group known as the National Movement for the Restoration of Pakistani Sovereignty. The group went to claim that he was a spy from America.
Photos of him handcuffed with a gun at his head and hold-up newspaper were also attached. Later after nine hard and scary days, terrorists killed and decapitated Pearl’s head. On May 16, 2002, his severed head and decomposed body were revealed to be cut into ten pieces and were also revealed to be buried, there was a jacket seen in a shallow grave at Gadap, which is about 48 km north of Karachi.
