Tamzen Hayes was filming the part of Virginia McKay in season 2 of Dr Blake. Hayes had to play a dead woman in a scene filmed inside a room set up to look like a morgue on the first day of shooting.
McLachlan’s character spoke scripted lines like “she was beautiful.” McLachlan then whispered something along the lines of ‘you are really beautiful,’ leaning into Hayes’ ear so that only she could hear him. This wasn’t a scripted or guided performance.”

Ms Hayes said her goodbyes to some of the cast and crew and left the studio to walk to her car in the parking lot at the end of three days of shooting. Mr. McLachlan, who was in the midst of filming a scene, dashed outside to catch up with her. When he got close enough, he said “I didn’t get to say goodbye to you properly,” held her face, and kissed her openly. “Hayes was shocked and unsure of what to do. When a crew member standing in the doorway shouted, ‘Craig, we need you back on set,’ McLachlan pulled away a few seconds later.”

Similarly, Teagan Wouters, who played Janet in The Rocky Horror Show, says that Mr. McLachlan, who played Frank-n-Furter, kissed down the front of her stomach during a bedroom scene and asked her for kisses in her dressing room. Also, Tim Maddren, a former member of the children’s musical group Hi-5, claims Mr. McLachlan harassed and threatened him after he declined to participate in an on-stage prank involving Mr. McLachlan simulating masturbation and oral sex on Mr. Maddren’s finger.
