Arnima Hayat, 19, was discovered dead in her bath in a North Parramatta residence on Pennant Hills Road around 4.30 pm on Sunday after her wellbeing was questioned.
Meraj Zafar, Ms. Hayat’s partner, was later charged with murder after turning himself in on Monday.
Arnima’s parents, Abu and Mahafuza Hayat, spoke to 7NEWS about their grief when their daughter died.
“I want my daughter, I want my daughter,” Mr. Hayat repeated.
“My daughter’s not coming,” Mrs. Hayat said.
Mr. and Mrs. Hayat stated that their daughter was in her second year of medical school and aspired to be a surgeon.
The couple had just been married for six months and had just moved into the Parramatta unit together.
Arnima’s parents claim they haven’t heard from her since she moved in with Meraj.
On Tuesday, Mr. Zafar’s case was heard in Bankstown Local Court.

At his initial appearance before magistrate Shane McAnulty, Mr. Zafar did not attend in person or via AVL.
His lawyer, Mohamad Sakr, informed the court that no application for bail will be filed on Tuesday, but that one might be filed “in due course.”
