Angel Del Villar was apprehended on suspicion of plotting to break the Kingpin Narcotics Act. Luca Scalisi, the CFO of Angel’s talent agency Del Entertainment, was also charged with violating the Kingpin Act by conspiring to transact in the property of particularly designated narcotics traffickers.
According to news reports, another guy called Jesus Perez Alvear and his company, Gallistica Diamante, a.k.a. Ticket Premier, were implicated in the case. In 2018, the US Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control labeled them as “specially designated narcotics dealers.”
They claim he and Gallistica Diamante functioned on behalf of Mexican drug traffickers by facilitating money laundering and a global distribution network.
Furthermore, according to the complaint, on April 19, 2018, FBI agents approached a well-known singer, whose identity has not been released, and told him about Perez’s Kingpin Act designation and how it prevented him from doing business with Perez and performing performances that Perez promoted.
Despite this, Perez continued to promote Del entertainment concerts until the end of 2019. Meanwhile, the unidentified artist proceeded to perform during Perez’s show.
Del Villar’s credit card was also used to pay for a private plane that carried him from Van Nuys Airport to a concert in Aguascalientes, Mexico in one occasion.
Angel made his first court appearance at the United States District Court in downtown Los Angeles. He was also released after posting a $100,000 bond. Their arraignments have been scheduled for July 20.
