There was a horrific case of child abuse that was reported to the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office that includes a 27-year-old Newton Township woman who was being held at the Trumbull County jail on Wednesday.
The third-degree felony charge of child endangerment is being pursued against Amber Rae McElravy for Scott Street, who is being held without bond. At McElravy’s arrangement, which will take place at Newton Falls Municipal Court at 9 a.m. today, a bond amount will also be decided. She might spend up to three years in prison if proven to be guilty.
As per the Trumbull County sheriff’s report, there was a witness who also contacted Girard around 2:30 pm and provided evidence in the case. Tuesday claimed that she had also handed law enforcement a video showing a 3- to 4-year-old being repeatedly abused, including with a belt and being tossed around the room.
The family in the 5200 blocks for the Scott Street address has reportedly been subject to abuse allegations on several occasions, as per the report. As per the report, the accused victim was placed in emergency foster care by Trumbull County Children Services.
According to a report, the kid had no outward signs of injury, but the abuse had been occurring for more than a month. Around six o’clock on Wednesday, McElravy was taken into custody at the residence on Scott Street and lodged in the jail. Children services officials arrived at the Newton Township residence at around 4:44 p.m. to secure the victim while the other children in the residence were sent to stay with the victim’s paternal grandmother.
