According to the Marine Corps, Capt. John was assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 364 as an MV-22B pilot.
He won a National Defense Services Medal and a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal for his five years of service in the Marines. According to Dodgers spokesperson Steve Brener, Capt. John is survived by his wife, Amber, who is expecting their second child, and their 20-month-old daughter.
